TRANSITION TIES
For adapting a standard tie into one that can accept 1/2” coil rod.
This revolutionary Transition Tie™ was developed to solve a number of forming problems. The unique design allows you to make a convenient connection between Steel Ply style formwork and 1/2” coil rod for one-sided forming, adjustable-length ties, blind-side forming, etc.
Loop Coil Ties come in a number of standard variations, including different breakback depths, cones, bend angles etc. Scroll down to see an order chart.
LC-6 — 6” min. wall, 1” breakback
LC-4 — 4” min. wall, 1” breakback
LC-6C — 6” min. wall, 1” breakback with 1” cone
LC-4C — 4” min. wall, 1” breakback with 1” cone
Many other variations available including Turnbuckle Loop Coil Ties
Steel Dog® Turnbuckle Loop-Coil Ties™ provide a first in the concrete forming industry: a way to adjust the length of a tie after it is in place and attached to the formwork. Like the industry-standard LC Loop-Coil Ties, LCT Turnbuckle ties provide a convenient connection between Steel Ply formwork and 1/2” coil rod, for one-sided forming, adjustable-length ties, blind-side forming, etc.
Turnbuckle ties are also commonly used to “Internally Brace” formwork when pouring large concrete slabs. A pre-bent Turnbuckle tie provides a means of attaching formwork to a rebar matt or mud slab when used with Rebar Hooks or Anchor-Bars.
Common sizes:
LCT-7 — 7” min. one-sided wall
LCT-5 — 5” min. one-sided wall
LCT-7-B45 — 7” min. one-sided wall, 45° bend (specify type A or type B)
The Steel Dog Snap-Coil™ Tie is a multipurpose Transition Tie for “job-built” plywood concrete forms. With a button head snap tie electronically welded to a ½”coil tie end, the Snap-Coil™ Tie gives the user the versatility using of threaded coil rod for one-sided forming, long ties, and other purposes, while still using familiar, low-labor-cost means of attachment to formwork (slotted wedges, Jahn brackets).
The Steel Dog Resi-Coil™ Tie is a multipurpose Transition Tie for 1-1/8" plywood concrete forms. With a Resi-Tie electronically welded to a ½”coil tie end, the Resi-Coil™ Tie gives the user the versatility of threaded coil rod for one-sided forming, long ties, and other purposes, while still using the quickest, handset modular form system.
The Steel Dog® Cam-Lock Loop-Coil™ Tie is a multipurpose Transition Tie™ . With a loop tie end and self centering cone, electronically welded to a two-strut, ½”coil tie end, the Cam-Lock Loop-Coil™ Tie allows the user to take advantage of the versatility of threaded coil rod for one-sided forming, long ties, and other purposes when using Gates Cam-Lock forms and hardware
This unique tie is a standard aluminum form flat tie on one end and a ½”coil rod adapter on the other end. Now you can connect your aluminum forms to industry-standard ½” coil rod to deal with difficult forming situations, such as one sided forming or field-adjustable length ties.
The standard size AC-6 can be used for a 6” minimum wall and greater. The shorter, AC-4, has less adjustability but will accommodate a 4” minimum wall thickness. Bent ends are also available.
EXISTING WALL HARDWARE
For tying formwork into an existing wall or structure.
Steel Dog® Rebar Hooks are a low-cost, fast means of connecting threaded rod at right angles anywhere along the length of rebar for a variety of purposes. The unique arrangement of two opposing hooks makes it easy to make a field connection to rebar with limited clearance.
Available in various sizes for:
RH-6 — 1/2” coil rod and #6 (or smaller) rebar
RH-48 — 1/2” coil rod and #9 (or smaller) rebar
RH-8 — 3/4” coil rod and #9 (or smaller) rebar
RH-8D — 15mm (5/8”) euro rod and #9 (or smaller) rebar
For larger sizes see Rebar Coil Clamp
The Steel Dog® Rebar Clamp is a heavy duty version of our popular Rebar Hook. This clamp will allow you to tie onto rebar up to size #11. Available in multiple threadforms for virtually any form system.

What is ONE-SIDED and BLIND SIDED forming?
One-sided forming is the practice of pouring a concrete wall up against an existing wall. The trouble is securing your formwork to the existing wall, and in the past this has been achieved with heavy and expensive external backbracing. Steel Dog has revolutionized the world of One-sided and Blind Sided forming with solutions that eliminate the need for external bracing. Our comprehensive system is based on making universal connections to coil rod using a "Transition Coil Tie." We make these Transition Ties™ for most major form systems including Steel Ply Forms, Aluminum Forms, 1-1/8" Wood Forms, Gates Cam-Lock forms, and Job Built 3/4" ply Forms. Beyond that we’ve developed a series of parts to tie into almost any existing wall, be it concrete, steel, wood, rebar, you name it we’ll help you form to it.
